CBSE Schools in Bangalore

Welcome to The Foundation School (An IIT/IIM Alumni School)

(CBSE Aff. No: 830712 for Gunjur Branch)

About Us: The Foundation schools were established in 2009. The Gunjur branch has become one of the top CBSE schools in Varthur, Gunjur & Whitefield areas, and the best school in Sarjapur Road area in a short period of time. The schools follow a methodology that helps children through hands-on activities and experiential learning. Children at The Foundation School are seen not as consumers who need external entertainment, but as producers who interact with various learning material with their own hands; construct knowledge and gain immense satisfaction from the process. In keeping with this methodology, The Foundation School follows the Montessori Philosophy at the pre-primary level, and experiential learning from grade 1 onwards. All of these make The Foundation School, one of the foremost leading and progressive schools in the Varthur, Gunjur, Whitefield and Sarjapur Road areas of Bangalore.

Holistic Approach: While academics is important, The Foundation School also believes in a holistic approach to education. Students therefore are involved in a variety of activities such as Music, Art, Dance, Sports etc. Older students have an opportunity to learn from our HOS (Hands On Science) and Creative Thinking Classes. The Gunjur branch also has the Saturday Enrichment Programs, where students get an opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in various areas such as Aeromodeling, Robotics, Speech, Music etc.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national board and schools across the country are affiliated to it. Centrally run institutions such as Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodayas are affiliated to CBSE.

CBSE is a progressive board that constantly revises its curriculum to keep is relevant to modern economic requirements. CBSE also offers flexibility in subject choices thereby helping the student pursue her/his interests. Many entrance exams for national institutions are based on CBSE's curriculum. Lastly, CBSE offers mobility to parents who expect to shift jobs or locations as each CBSE affiliated school should follow the requirements of the board.

CBSE curriculum is comprehensive and yet flexible. It offers students multiple ways of learning a subject. The HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) is an example of an initiative of how the board is encouraging thinking skills and is trying to move beyond rote learning. The curriculum rewards diligence. As long as students are regular with their work, they tend to do well

Yes. A student can attend grade 9 and 10 in different schools under CBSE. When moving to a new school for grade 10, the student must have passed grade 9 at the previous school. Further, the student must produce a valid transfer certificate duly countersigned by the educational authorities concerned. It is better to do the transfer before July as schools need to register students with the board.

CBSE has not prescribed any age criteria for admissions to grade 1. However, parents are expected to follow the minimum age requirement as prescribed by the state government. Similarly, parents are expected to follow the age criteria prescribed by the state government for students appearing for grade 10 exams.

The minimum percentage of attendance required by CBSE to make the student eligible for grade 10 and 12 exams is 75%.
